Public Transportation Woes
[No TV blogging for Veronica Mars or Eureka last night, because I didn't have time to watch them last night. I'll get to them when I have the chance, and in VM's case once I'm caught up with season 2.]
I realize that, at least in theory, the revenue generated from full-size ads on the bus subsidizes the cost of my bus pass*, but the thick mesh they place over the windows in order to display them makes it impossible to see out of in poor lighting conditions like the thunderstorm this morning. From the back of the bus, the only way I had of deteremining where we were was to look at the clock.
* Not exactly. If NFTA is trying to maximize profit, then they're not going to lower their fares simply because they found another revenue stream. But if they're trying to offer as wide a service as possible and remain self-supporting, ad revenue would allow them to do this. Now if they could only extend the hours on the routes...
